This paper conducts stress testing for default probabilities in banking industry of Iran. We apply the credit portfolio approach model developed by Wilson (1997) and analyze the impacts of various macroeconomic shocks on default rates of banks. In the constructed model, we first estimate the effects of macroeconomics variables on default rate. Then the dynamic relationship between selected macroeconomics variables is estimated by a VAR model. Residuals obtained in the two previous steps were used to construct the covariance matrix for system of equations. Finally, using the Monte-Carlo method, a path of default probabilities is simulated in a one-year horizon under different scenarios. We compare default rates under different stress scenarios with baseline scenario to identify the effects of different shocks. The results of simulation show that unemployment rate shock has been the most harmful factor for default probabilities, followed by exchange rates shock. A shock to GDP growth also affects default rates significantly. Inflation shock generates the least important effect on default rates, consistent with the insignificant coefficient of inflation rate in the estimated default probability equation. A simultaneous shock to all macroeconomic variables has higher impact on the default rates in lower tails than upper tails. The results also show the effects of shocks decrease with the passage of time.}, keywords = {Credit Risk,Stress Test,Wilson Model,Simulation,Banking Industry}, title_fa = {آزمون استرس احتمالات نکول صنعت بانکداری ایران با رویکرد پرتفوی اعتباری}, abstract_fa = {به دلیل بالا بودن مطالبات معوق در صنعت بانکداری ایران، برآورد احتمال نکول وام‌گیرندگان برای مدیریت ریسک اعتباری از اهمیت زیادی برخوردار است. در این مقاله، آزمون استرس احتمالات نکول در صنعت بانکداری ایران با استفاده از رویکرد پرتفوی اعتباری انجام می‌شود. روش مطالعه براساس سیستمی از معادلات و شبیه‌سازی است. در مرحله اول، اثر متغیرهای کلان اقتصادی بر نرخ‌های نکول برآورد می‌شوند. سپس روابط پویای متغیرهای کلان اقتصادی با استفاده از مدل VAR برآورد می‌شوند. با استفاده از سیستم معادلات دو مرحله بالا و ساختار ماتریس واریانس-کواریانس باقیمانده‌ها، شبیه‌سازی احتمالات نکول با روش مونت-کارلو در افق زمانی یک ساله تحت سناریوی پایه و سناریوهای استرس اجرا می‌شود. در انتها، مقدار تاثیر شوک‌های مختلف از مقایسه احتمالات نکول تحت سناریوهای استرس مختلف با سناریوی پایه (سناریوی بدون شوک) محاسبه می‌شود. ابتدا جهت مقایسه مقدار تاثیر شوک‌های مختلف به اندازه یک انحراف معیار به هر کدام از متغیرهای کلان اقتصادی، شوک وارد شده است که این سناریوها لزوما بیانگر بدترین وضعیت که هدف آزمون استرس است، نیستند. بنابراین براساس داده‌های اقتصاد ایران، چهار سناریوی حدی تعریف و تاثیر آن‌ها بررسی شده است. نتایج حاصل از شبیه‌سازی حاکی از آن است که شوک نرخ بیکاری مخرب‌ترین عامل برای نرخ‌های نکول بوده است. دومین شوک قوی اثرگذار بر نرخ نکول، شوک نرخ ارز است. شوک نرخ رشد تولید ناخالص داخلی نیز تاثیر قابل توجهی داشته است. شوک نرخ تورم، کم‌اثرترین شوک است. این نتایج با ضرایب حاصل از تخمین معادله نکول و معنی‌داری آنها نیز سازگار هستند. با مقایسه‌ اثرات در چندک‌های مختلف توزیع، مشاهده می‌شود که تمامی شوک‌ها در دنبالهپایین نسبت به دنباله‌ بالا، اثر بیشتری به‌جا گذاشته‌اند. همچنین نتایج نشان می‌دهند که اثرات شوک در دورهدوم افزایش پیدا می‌کند، اما در دوره‌های بعد روند کاهشی داشته است.}, keywords_fa = {ریسک اعتباری,آزمون استرس,مدل ویلسون,شبیه‌سازی,صنعت بانکداری}, url = {https://joer.atu.ac.ir/article_8201.html}, eprint = {https://joer.atu.ac.ir/article_8201_d7d648ff8b1564b4156f80d6423a581c.pdf} }
